Associate - Accounts Payable

Macquarie Group
An opportunity is now available for a motivated individual to join our Sourcing and Vendor Management team to deliver and manage a wide range of responsibilities.

Reporting directly to both the Asia Lead of Accounts Payable Operations and the China Finance Head, you will assist our finance team to ensure that our accounting records and tax fillings comply with China regulations, and our Macquarie environment. You will also manage all tasks relating to the payment of expenses, AMEX and supplier invoices.

Leveraging your working knowledge of China accounting and taxation requirements, you will manage a pay cycle process with a defined risk and control framework. You will also drive, improve and change locally maintained processes, and ensure our internal clients comply with our Accounts Payable and Trade and Expense policies. Additionally, you will liaise with local banks to maintain updated signatories, maintain bank account balances so they comply with internal and external requirements, and assist with any other Tax Compliance related work, queries and audits (VAT, EIT).

Your superior written and oral communication skills are needed as you will build and develop internal and external client relationships, liaising directly with external auditors, tax offices, regulatory authorities, banks and other professional organisations as required. As you develop relationships with key stakeholders and peers, both locally and globally, you will also be trusted to manage client queries and manage reporting requirements from the business. Your strong analytical skills will help the team prepare statutory and managerial financial reports, including monthly and annual statements.

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 3 years of experience in an AP environment. It would also be an advantage if you have knowledge of procurement operations, and the ability to deliver and manage change process and communication programmes. A flexible attitude with a positive outlook would be desirable, as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure.
